The intent of this project was to update a childhood home to incorporate age-in-place concepts that would allow the owners to remain in their home for many years to come. This remodeling moved the kitchen to the center of the home while adding a library as a private retreat with an accessible bath.  The library is a flexible space that will transition to a first floor bedroom when needed.  Universal design principles guided the design throughout the whole house.  The subtle interior highlights the breathtaking, wrap around views of Lake Michigan - the focal point of every room.
